Crisis Over Coffee is a research paper for PWR1, Numbers and Metrics: Rhetoric of Calculation and Quantification. I examine how algorithmic amplification of high-volume, extremist political content produces what I call emotional fatigue — an extension of Susan Moeller's concept of compassion fatigue — and how that impacts our communities and democratic participation.
